FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your heart health questions, answered

You should consult a cardiologist if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, heart palpitations, unexplained fatigue, or leg swelling. A visit is also recommended if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, a family history of heart disease, or if your primary care physician has detected a heart murmur or abnormal EKG.

Dr. Saad will conduct a comprehensive review of your medical history, discuss your symptoms and concerns, and perform a physical examination. Initial consultations typically last 45–60 minutes. Any necessary testing such as an EKG, echocardiogram, or lab work may be ordered the same day. You’ll leave with a clear, personalized care plan.

In most cases, a referral is not required. We welcome self-referred patients and are currently accepting new patients with same-week availability. However, some insurance plans may require a referral for coverage — we recommend checking with your insurance provider beforehand.

We offer comprehensive preventive care including cardiovascular risk assessments, executive heart screenings, athletic heart health evaluations, and lifestyle wellness guidance covering nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management. Our approach focuses on optimizing heart health and longevity before problems develop.

Not always — chest pain can have many causes including muscular, digestive, or respiratory issues. However, chest pain should never be ignored. If your chest pain is sudden, severe, or accompanied by shortness of breath, sweating, or nausea, call 911 immediately. For non-emergency chest pain, schedule an evaluation so we can identify the cause and give you
peace of mind.
